The petitioner claims to be widow of Late Asarfi Dhanuk, who was a freedom fighter and was getting freedom fighter pension till his (petitioner's husband) death on 15.09.2019.

It is the petitioner's case that the amount of pension credited in the Pension S.B. A/C No.1089501000047921 of

Patna High Court CWJC No.24400 of 2019(2) dt.16-01-2020 2/2 UCO Bank is not being allowed to be withdrawn by her by the Bank on the ground that the freedom fighter family pension was cancelled. She is said to have approached the District Magistrate, Banka and the Branch Manager of the Bank, but till date nothing has been paid, she claims.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Bank has submitted that possibly because of non-submission of life certificate to the effect that the petitioner is alive, either pension is not being credited or the amount is not being allowed to be withdrawn.

Be that as it may, let the petitioner approach the District Magistrate, Banka and the Branch Manager, UCO Bank, Shambhuganj Branch, Banka within one month from today either herself or through any person authorised by her. The Branch Manager shall, thereafter, examine the grievance of the petitioner and ensure that she starts getting benefits of said scheme, if she is found entitled to.

With the aforesaid observation and direction, the writ application stands disposed of.
