An affidavit has been filed today explaining the circumstances in which the husband of the petitioner had been apprehended by the police.

WJC No.388 of 2019(3) dt.18-02-2019 2/2 Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that Vijay Kumar, Retired Assistant Engineer has now been released and, therefore, the only issue remains with regard to any harassment on the part of the police. For this, the present Habeas Corpus petition is an incompetent exercise, keeping in view the facts stated in the affidavit filed on behalf of the State. It will be open to the aggrieved person to approach the appropriate forum for redressal of grievance or for compensation as necessary in accordance with law.
