The petitioner is in custody in connection with STR No. 173 of 2019/ 170 of 2019 arising out of G.R. No. 251 of 2016, Madanpur P.S. Case No. 15 of 2016 registered for the offences under Sections 147,148, 149, 353,307, 201, 504 IPC, 27 Arms Act and 17 CLA Act.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that similarly circumstanced other co-accused have been granted bail.
Considering the fact that the petitioner is accused in large number of cases, the Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. The prayer is rejected.
However, the court below is directed to expedite the
Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.83936 of 2019(6) dt.01-07-2020 2/2 trial and conclude the same within a period of nine months. In the event the trial is not concluded within the aforesaid period of nine months and if there is no any laches on the part of the petitioner in conclusion of the trial, the petitioner may renew his prayer for bail after nine months.
