2. In the present writ application, the petitioner has prayed for the grant of following reliefs:

"(i) For the issuance of a writ of mandamus, and/or any other appropriate writ/direction/order commanding the respondents to appoint the petitioner on a class III post on compassionate ground.

(ii) For the issuance of appropriate writ/direction/order to ensure all consequential reliefs to the petitioner in the facts and circumstances of the case."

3. It is an admitted position that the petitioner's father

Patna High Court CWJC No.19751 of 2025(2) dt.08-12-2025 2/2 died in harness on 17.05.2011 and thereafter, the petitioner addressed a letter dated 03.01.2012 to the respondent no. 3 i.e. the Registrar, Magadh University, Bodh Gaya for compassionate appointment.

4. Learned counsel appearing for the respondentUniversity submits that this writ application has been filed after inordinate delay of 13 years for which there is no explanation in the writ application and hence, this writ application is fit to be dismissed on the ground of delay and latches alone.

5. To the aforesaid objection raised by learned counsel for the Magadh University, learned counsel for the petitioner does not have any answer and in fact, in the writ application also no explanation has been given as to why the petitioner has approached this Court after delay of 13 years.

6. For the reasons as noted above, the present writ application is dismissed on the ground of delay and latches. (Alok Kumar Sinha, J) kiran/- U
