JUSTICE PARTHA SARTHY ORAL JUDGMENT (Per: HONOURABLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE) Date : 14-07-2023 We have seen the affidavit dated 31.07.2021, filed belatedly, by the Additional Chief Secretary, Education Department, Government of Bihar. We see from the affidavit that certain steps were taken by the Department of Higher Education and the Vice-Chancellors of the Universities were directed to submit a report with respect to construction of hostels in the last ten years with the amounts received under different schemes. Information is also said to have been supplied by the Vice-Chancellors, which was also complied in a
Patna High Court CWJC No.1713 of 2020 dt.14-07-2023 2/2 tabular form.
2. We find in the affidavit a detailed report of the action taken by the Universities at various places. We are of the opinion that the report can be accepted and the matter closed. We express our hope that routine maintenance work would be carried out regularly by the Universities and the State Government would also ensure that it is carried out in a phased manner without causing difficulty to the students.
3. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above reservation.
