JUSTICE CHAKRADHARI SHARAN SINGH ORAL ORDER 23-01-2020 This writ application has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to pay him arrears of salary for the period July, 2011 to August, 2012. The petitioner was working as Panchayat Sewak and he retired after attaining the age of superannuation on 06.01.2013. He had earlier filed a writ application before this Court giving rise to C.W.J.C. No. 10373 of 2014 seeking direction to the respondents for the payment of his arrears of salary and pensionary benefits. While entertaining the petitioner's prayer for grant of pensionary benefits, the Court observed that the petitioner may file a separate writ application for payment of arrears of salary for the period as indicated above. It transpires that the petitioner had to approach this Court again by filing a contempt petition

Patna High Court CWJC No.25734 of 2019(2) dt.23-01-2020 2/2 giving rise to M.J.C. No. 2519 of 2017, which was disposed of on 14.10.2019. The petitioner states that his grievance of nonpayment of salary from July, 2011 to August, 2012, is yet to be redressed.

The petitioner has claimed that he has approached the District Magistrate, West Champaran, for the payment of arrears of salary for the period in question.

Considering the facts and circumstances, this application is disposed of with a direction to the District Magistrate, West Champaran, to look into the petitioner's grievance for payment of arrears of salary for the period July, 2011 to August, 2012, and take a decision within a period of one month from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order. If, for no laches on the part of the petitioner, the said amount has remained unpaid, the District Magistrate shall ensure that the same is paid to him within a period of two months thereafter.

This writ application stands disposed of.
