Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners does not refute the above made submission however, states that though the amounts have been paid to the petitioners but interest on the same has not been calculated. Learned counsel therefore, seeks a direction from this Hon'ble Court to direct the respondent authority to pay interest on the delayed

Learned counsel for the respondents states that the bills submitted by the petitioners were on different dates therefore, the contention of the petitioners that interest has not been calculated is without any legal basis. Further, it is stated that there is no agreement between the parties for payment of the interest on the delayed payments.

Having regard to the above made submissions, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioners to make a suitable representation to the authority concerned for payment of the interest on the delayed payment within a period of four weeks from today. On such representation being made, the authority shall consider the same strictly in accordance with law. The authority shall endeavor to dispose of the representation made by the petitioners as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of the said representation. In case the authority comes to the conclusion that the petitioners are entitled to any amount, they shall endeavor to pay the same within a reasonable time. However, in case the authority comes to the conclusion that the claim of the petitioners is not legally tenable, they shall pass a reasoned orders for rejecting the same.

5. With the above direction, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
