2. The petitioner seeks regular bail in connection with Gopalpur (Rangra) P.S. Case No. 625 of 2022, lodged on 14.12.2022 under Sections 302, 34 of the Indian Penal Code and 27 of the Arms Act.

3. As per the prosecution's case, the F.I.R. has been lodged against four named accused persons, alleging that they fired gunshots at the informant's brother, causing his death.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is innocent and has committed no offense. The petitioner has been in custody since 21.06.2023. He is not named in the F.I.R.; rather, his name surfaced during the investigation, particularly due to the confessional statement of a

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.90127 of 2024(2) dt.22-01-2025 2/2 co-accused, who has been granted bail by this Court under order dated 31.08.2024 in Criminal Miscellaneous No. 58646 of 2024.

5. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the petitioner has 16 (sixteen) criminal antecedents. Of these, 9 cases are related to dacoity/robbery, one case is under Section 307 of the I.P.C., and five cases are also under Section 307 of the I.P.C.

6. In the present facts and circumstances, I am not inclined to grant regular bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, the prayer for regular bail of the petitioner in connection with Gopalpur (Rangra) P.S. Case No. 625 of 2022, pending before the learned ACJM-III, Naugachia, Bhagalpur is hereby rejected.

8. However, the trial Court is directed to expedite the trial.
