1. The appellant was aggrieved with the rejection of his candidature since the Central Selection Board (Constable Recruitment) (for brevity "the Board") found that the handwriting/fingerprints and signature of some of the candidates including that of the appellant did not match with their original handwriting/fingerprints in the form as well as in the attendance sheet at the time of mains examination. The allegation was that there could have been an impersonation at the examination.

2. In such circumstances, it is only proper that the appellant makes a representation before the Board, which shall consider the same, and if necessary, take handwriting samples from the appellant in presence of the Board officials and compare it with the sign in the examination papers. We make it clear that we have not necessarily directed such samples to be taken and it would be open for the Board to even verify those available with them in the examination conducted. A speaking order shall be passed, if a representation is filed within a period of two weeks, within a further period of one month.

3. The Letters Patent Appeal stands disposed of.

4. Interlocutory Application(s), if any, shall stand closed.
