This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the concerned authorities to release the petitioner in terms of the short sentencing policy of the State of Bihar who is serving sentence for life being a convict of offence committed by him under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.

However, learned counsel appearing for the State has submitted that the petitioner's case has already been considered by the Bihar State Sentence Remission Board in its meeting held on 01.08.2018 at serial number 42 and recommendation has been made by the Board to release the writ petitioner looking into "92" years of age. In support of his submission, learned counsel for the State has produced a copy of the relevant recommendation. Let it be kept on record. Accordingly, with the consent of the parties, this matter stands disposed of as the same has become infructuous.
