2. The petitioner seeks bail in a case registered for the offence punishable under Sections 147, 149, 341, 323, 307, 354, 379, 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

3. As per prosecution case, petitioner is alleged to have assaulted wife of informant with spade.

4. In this case, out of the 10 prosecution witnesses, eight witnesses have already been examined and only the Investigating Officer and Doctor are yet to be examined.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, specific and direct nature of accusation and advanced stage of trial, the prayer for grant bail of to the petitioner is rejected.

6. However, considering the fact that petitioner is in custody since 11.04.2023, the learned trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same preferably within a period of one year from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
