Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned APP for the State.

Petitioner seeks bail in a case registered for the offences punishable under Sections 341, 323, 427, 435, 385, 386, 120(B), 504, 506/34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 27 of the Arms Act.

Allegation is that the petitioner demanded ransom and on non-fulfillment committed assault against the informant and others. Petitioner has got a long list of criminal antecedent with allegation of having committed serious offences of different nature.

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.82205 of 2019(5) dt.27-08-2020 2/2 Submission is that petitioner is in custody since last one year. No other eyewitness has supported the allegation. Considering the facts aforesaid, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail for the present in connection with Raushanganj (Bankebazar) P.S. Case No. 178 of 2018 pending in the court of learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sherghati, Gaya.

Hence, prayer for bail is refused.

Trial Court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same preferably within a period of one year from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order. (Birendra Kumar, J) Kundan/- U T
