====================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE DR. JUSTICE RAVI RANJAN and HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE S. KUMAR ORAL ORDER (Per: HONOURABLE DR. JUSTICE RAVI RANJAN) 03-08-2018 We have heard this matter which relates to assault upon a lawyer while his vehicle was being checked by the police. The allegation is serious. The police has no justification to proceed in the manner in which it had proceeded, however, action has already been taken by the police authority itself first, by registering the FIR lodged by the writ petitioner and secondly by passing order of suspension with regard to four police personnel and initiation of disciplinary proceeding against them.

In our view, sufficient action has been taken but the

Patna High Court Cr. WJC No.1407 of 2018 (10) dt.03-08-2018 2/2 authorities must ensure that the cases be brought to their logical conclusion and there should not be unnecessary delay in the matter.

With the aforesaid observation, this writ petition stands disposed of. It is further to be noted here that the Director General of Police must carve out a training programme to be imparted upon the police personnel, particularly the subordinate police officials, like Inspector, Sub Inspector and Constables etc. with respect to interact with the public.

Let the CD and DVR be returned to the concerned. I.A. No.1696 of 2018 Learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw I.A. No.1696 of 2018 with a liberty to file proper petition, if the petitioner is so advised.

He is permitted to do so.

Accordingly, I.A. No.1696 of 2018 is dismissed as withdrawn with the aforesaid liberty.
