JUSTICE CHAKRADHARI SHARAN SINGH ORAL ORDER 08-08-2018 The fact that the petitioning institution has been granted recognition by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to run B.Ed. Course is not in dispute. This application has been filed seeking direction to the respondent Purnea University to grant affiliation. Once recognition has been granted by the NCTE, there cannot be any reason why the University will not grant affiliation. The University is accordingly directed to proceed for grant of

It is made clear that the cut off date, prescribed by the Supreme Court, for grant of affiliation for the Academic Session 2018-19 has lapsed and, therefore, there is no question of grant of affiliation for the Academic Session 2018-19. The respondent Purnea University is, however, directed to pass appropriate orders for grant of affiliation in accordance with law laid down by the Supreme Court in case of Maa Vaishno Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya Vs. State of U.P., reported in (2013) 2 SCC 617, for the next academic session within the time stipulated therein. This writ application accordingly stands disposed of.
