The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Special NDPS Case No. 03 of 2018 arising out of Katihar Sahayak P.S. Case No. 73 of 2018 G.R. Case No. 414 of 2018 instituted for the offence under Sections 8, 20 (b) (ii) (c) 25, 29 of the NDPS Act.

It is alleged that 644.05 kg. Ganja has been recovered from truck. Three persons including petitioner were found sitting in the truck. It is alleged that Sanjeev Deo Barma and Sanjeet Deo Barma were driver and Khalasi of the truck in question.

The seizure list bears signature of all the accused persons including petitioner.

Prayer for bail of the petitioner stands rejected. Counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is in custody since 1.2.2018. The trial court is directed to expedite the trial and make efforts to conclude the same preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of this order.
