The petitioner apprehends his arrest in a case registered for the offences punishable under Section 498 A of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

The petitioner is said to have tortured the complainant in association of his family member and also tried to kill her on non-fulfillment of dowry demand. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that no such occurrence as alleged ever took place.

He is father-in-law of the complainant and has no concern with day to day affair of his son. He is living separately from his son. There is no specific allegation against him. He has no criminal antecedent. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, let the above named petitioner, be released on bail, in the event of his arrest or surrender before the learned Court below within a period of six weeks from today, on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned Subdivisional Judicial Magistrate, West Champaran at Bettiah in connection with S.C. Case No.1348 of 2019, arising out of Complaint Case No.508 of 2018, subject to the condition as laid down under Section 438 (2) of the Cr.P.C.
