The matter has been taken up through video conferencing.

The petitioner apprehends his arrest in Complaint case No. 1707 C/ 2018 registered under Section 498A of the IPC and u/s 3⁄4 of Dowry Prohibition Act.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is father-in-law of the complainant and he has got no manner of concern with family affairs of complainant and her husband. All the allegations are false and concocted and the allegations are made with a view to pressurize the father-in-law and other in-laws to fulfill the illegal demands of the

The learned APP and the learned counsel for the complainant opposed the prayer for anticipatory bail and submitted that husband of complainant was residing outside the country and petitioner being father-in-law of the complainant subjected her to all sorts of physical and mental torture. Considering the facts aforesaid and nature of allegation made against the petitioner and the fact that petitioner is father-in-law of the complainant, the petitioner, above named, in the event of his arrest/ surrender before the court below within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt/ production of a copy of this order is directed to be enlarged on bail on his furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (rupees ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Sub divisional Judicial Magistrate, Jamui in connection with Complaint case No. 1707 C/ 2018, subject to conditions as laid down under Section 438(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
