Mr.Sheo Shankar Prasad, SC 8 ====================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE ANIL KUMAR UPADHYAY ORAL ORDER 18-12-2019 Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State.
The present petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for appointment on compassionate ground against the post of Chowkidar .
It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the grand-father of the petitioner was working as Chowkidar and died in harness on 30.01.2003. Thereafter the application of his uncle for appointment on compassionate ground was considered and rejected by the respondents. Now
Patna High Court CWJC No.955 of 2019(2) dt.18-12-2019 2/2 the petitioner has applied for consideration of his case for appointment on compassionate ground.
It is well settled that appointment of any person on compassionate ground is not a reservation but it is only provided to mitigate the hardship of the family members of the deceased by way of social security.
In the present case, the grand-father of the petitioner died in year 2003 itself and his family survives for about 16 years.
In this view of the matter, the Court is not inclined to grant any relief to the petitioner. The writ petition, being devoid of merit, is dismissed.
