The petitioner is in custody in connection with Palasi P.S. Case No. 192 of 2015 for the offence under Sections 466, 468, 471, 420 and 120(B) of the Indian Penal Code. Allegation against the petitioner is that he made an attempt to cheat the Reliance Life Insurance Company by showing his wife dead, though she is alive.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has got no criminal antecedent and he is in custody since 28.10.2019. He further submits that the entire process requires detailed scrutiny on different stages, which is not possible and the allegation of attempt is totally false.
