JUSTICE CHAKRADHARI SHARAN SINGH ORAL ORDER 31-01-2020 This writ application has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to appoint the petitioner on the post of Constable in Patna Police on the basis of selection process undertaken by the District Selection Board (Respondent No. 4) pursuant to advertisement No. 01/2004.

2. It is the petitioner's claim that he had participated in the process of selection and despite his better performance in the selection process, he has not been appointed.

3. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has drawn my attention to an order of the Supreme Court dated 11.09.2019, passed in W.P. (s) (civil) No(s).

Patna High Court CWJC No.243 of 2020(2) dt.31-01-2020 2/2 1133/2019 whereby the Court has granted liberty the petitioners of that case to make a representation to the concerned authorities within one week from the date of the order. The authorities have been directed to consider the representation within two weeks thereafter. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that similar order may be passed in the petitioner's case also.

4. It is admitted in the writ application itself that subsequent to said selection process undertaken in 2004, subsequent selection processes have been undertaken. The posts were advertised in 2009 also. The petitioner has approached this Court more than a decade after completion of the selection process.

5. Considering the delay and laches on the part of the petitioner, I am not inclined to entertain this application, which is accordingly dismissed.
