Counsel for the respondent, at the outset, submits that pending the writ petition before this Court, the petitioner had been granted promotion to the post of Joint Director vide order dated 07.12.2010 and the petitioner in due course of time has also retired from service.

Given the aforesaid fact, this Court is of the opinion that the grievance of the petitioner substantially stands redressed. Accordingly, the present writ petition stands dismissed as having become infructuous.
