1. Proceedings of this matter have been taken-up through video conferencing.

2. This is the second round of litigation between the parties. Dispute has been raised by the petitioner in respect of her promotion on the post of Professor and further to extend the benefit of senior pay-scale and selection pay-scale from the date of her entitlement.

3. In the first round of litigation, in W.P.(S)No.5021/2009, this Court by order dated 4-9-2009, directed the petitioner to make representation to the State which she has made and accordingly, the Principal Secretary to the Government also fixed the case for personal hearing on 24-12-2009 in response to her representation dated 1-10-2009, but nothing happened thereafter leading to filing of this writ petition.

When the matter was taken-up for hearing on 27-7-2021, this Court directed the State to file affidavit clearly indicating the outcome of personal hearing dated 24-12-2009 qua the petitioner's promotion on the post of Professor and other consequential benefits.

4. Now, affidavit has been filed by the State stating inter alia that the Commissioner, Higher Education, has ordered the Screening Committee to hold meeting on 5-8-2021 and examine the matter relating to promotion of the petitioner, and the Screening Committee has already submitted report which is under consideration and decision will be taken within seven days from today.

5. Since the petitioner's case has been considered by the Screening Committee and necessary order has to be passed by the State Government acting on the recommendation of the Screening Committee, the writ petition is disposed of with a hope that appropriate order will be passed within seven days from today and thereafter, parties are at liberty to proceed in accordance with law. No order as to cost(s).
