Counsel for the appellants seeks time to deposit the mandatory amount as per the provision of Section 73(1) of Motor Vehicles Act. The appeal filed by the appellants shall not be entertained because they have not deposited mandatory amount Rs. 25,000 or 50% of the amount so awarded whichever is less.

Hence, appeal is dismissed.

Counsel for the appellants submitted that liberty may be granted to file subsequent appeal after deposited the mandatory amount. The appellants are free to file the subsequent appeal if law and procedure permits.

Certified copy of the award be returned to counsel for the appellants after taking the photocopy of the same.
