1. The limited relief that the petitioner has sought for in the present writ petition is for deciding a departmental appeal that the petitioner has preferred against the punishment order passed by the Disciplinary Authorities on 23.05.2018.

2. According to the petitioner, the appeal was preferred as early as on 06.12.2018 which till date has not been decided though more than two years have passed.

3. Given the limited relief that the petitioner has, the writ petition at this juncture is disposed off directing the respondents No. 2 & 3 to ensure that the Appeal preferred by the petitioner on 06.12.2018 if it has till date not been decided, be decided at the earliest preferably within an outer limit of 45 days. The outcome of the appeal should be communicated to the petitioner promptly.
