1. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though petitioner was initially appointed on the post of Peon by order dated 26/06/2007, but his juniors have been promoted on the post of Assistant Grade III whereas petitioner who is senior to them has not been promoted on the said post. He would also submit that petitioner has also made application before respondent No. 5 for mentioning his educational qualification in his service book and the same has also been informed to respondent No. 2 seeking permission to endorse the same in petitioner's service book but respondent No. 2 has not given the said permission, which is illegal and bad in law.

2. Heard learned counsel for the parties.

Be that as it may, since petitioner has filed representation along with his certificates to mention his educational qualifications in his service book and for grant of promotion on the post of Assistant Grade III with effect from the date on which his juniors have been promoted, respondent No. 2 is directed to consider and decide petitioner's representation within 6 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order by passing a reasoned and speaking order.

Petitioner is at liberty to file additional representation within two weeks from today. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter.

4. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of. No cost(s).
