1. The applicants have preferred this application for grant of anticipatory bail as they apprehend their arrest in connection with Crime No.375/2020, registered at Police Station Sakti, District Janjgir Champa for offence punishable under Section 498-A/34 of the IPC.

2. The applicants are father-in-law and mother-in-law of the complainant who was married with Brajesh Patel on 18.4.2018. After 3-4 months of the marriage, the accused persons started commenting about the quality of articles gifted at the time of marriage. Brajesh Patel used to consume liquor and assaulted the complainant in a state of intoxication which sometimes made her unconscious.

3. The allegation of demand of Rs.1,30,000/-, motor cycle and causing physical cruelty is mainly against the husband.

4. The present applicants are father-in-law and mother-in-law of the complainant. There are general allegations against these two applicants. Therefore, considering the entire fact situation of the case, I am inclined to release the applicants on anticipatory bail.

5. Accordingly, the application is allowed and it is directed that in the event of arrest of the applicants, they shall be released on anticipatory bail on each of them executing a personal bond for a sum of Rs.50,000/- with one surety in the like sum to the satisfaction of the arresting officer with the following conditions:- (i) they shall not influence the witnesses during trial. (ii) they shall make themselves available for interrogation by a police officer as and when required;

(iii) they shall not directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any person acquainted with the facts of the case so as to dissuade him from disclosing such facts to the Court or to any police officer.
