Heard Learned Counsel for the Petitioner and the State. 2.
Even if the Petitioner was visited with minor punishment, after the duration of the same lapses, the Petitioner has a right to be considered for promotion which is acknowledged in the counter-affidavit also. 3.
If the case of the Petitioner has not been considered till date, the Respondents are directed to consider the case of the Petitioner for promotion after expiry of the period of punishment in accordance with law. Let such consideration be done and appropriate orders be passed within a maximum period of four months from the date of receipt and/or production of a copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed.
