Grievance of the petitioner in the present writ petition is in respect of nongranting of compensation in spite of certain portion of the land belonging to the petitioner has been acquired by the respondents for the purpose of construction of the national highway.

According to the petitioner, to a legal notice there was a reply given by the office of the PWD, National Highway Division, Champa, wherein it has been intimated that appropriate instructions have been given to the Sub Engineer, Block Sakti for taking appropriate steps. But, thereafter, according to the petitioner, there have been no further developments initiated by the respondents. 3.
Given the facts, without entering into the merits of the case, at this juncture, this Court is of the opinion that it would be appropriate if the petitioner is directed to approach the respondents no. 3 and 4 for firstly investigating the issue whether the land of the petitioner has been acquired or not and, if acquired, whether the compensation has been paid to the petitioner or not. If not, either the respondents take appropriate steps or intimate the petitioner accordingly. 4.
