1. The challenge in the present writ petition is to the order Annexure P/4 dated 07.03.2018 passed by the Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue), Mungeli whereby the application of the petitioner seeking removal of the respondent No.4 as the Sarpanch of village Vicharpur, District Mungeli has been rejected.

2. By efflux of time, since the tenure of the respondent No.4 has come to an end and fresh elections have also been conducted, this Court is of the opinion that writ petition itself is left of only academic interest and it is for this reason, there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner.

3. Accordingly, this Court at this stage dismisses the writ petition for want of prosecution reserving the right of the petitioner to revive the same, if he so wants, by moving an appropriate application. Sd/- (P. Sam Koshy) Judge Ved
