1. The limited prayer in this petition is that for a direction to the respondents to pay CMPF amount due to the petitioner for the period May, 1990 to March, 1991 i.e. for a period of 10 months with interest.

2. The petitioner in the instant case was a Doctor working with the respondents No.1to4. He retired from service on 31.09.2011 from the

post of Deputy Chief Medical Officer. While settling dues of the petitioner, the provident funds which were maintained in the office of the respondent No.5, the petitioner has been paid provident fund except for the period between May, 1990 to March, 1991. CMPF amount for the said period could not be paid on account of non availability of the relevant records in the office of the respondents No.1to4. However, it appears that the details of the said period are available with the office of the respondent No.5. The respondents No.1to4 have also sought information in this regard from the office of the respondent No.5.

The learned counsel for the respondents No.1to4 today makes a statement that subject to respondent No.5 making available the details of the deposit of CMPF amount of the petitioner for the period May, 1990 to March, 1991, the respondents No.1to4 shall process the further formalities required so that the said amount could also be released to the petitioner at the earliest.

4. Given the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, this court does not intend to keep this petition pending any further. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of with a specific direction to the respondent No.5 who shall personally verify the accounts of the petitioner and provide necessary information and details so far as the contribution of CMPF of the petitioner being deposited in between 12.05.1990 to 31.03.1991.

5. Subject to respondent No.5's providing this information to the the respondents No.1to4, all necessary steps shall be taken by the

respondents concerned to ensure that the amount is released to the petitioner at the earliest.

6. Needless to mention that in the event of amount has not been released till date the same should also carry interest as was applicable in the department during the relevant period of time till the date of payment.
