25.02.2020 Shri P. Chaitanya Kumar, Advocate for the petitioner. Alleging non compliance of the order dated 01.05.2015 passed by this court in WPS No.1559 of 2015, the present contempt petition has been filed.

At the outset, this court is of the opinion that the present contempt petition would not be maintainable as it would be barred by limitation in view of Section 20 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, wherein the period prescribed for approaching the court for initiating contempt proceeding is one year. The present contempt petition has been filed after more than about five years.

Accordingly, reserving the right of the petitioner to avail appropriate remedies open to him, the contempt petition stands rejected and the respondents are discharged from the contempt proceeding. Sd/- (P. Sam Koshy) Judge Inder
