It appears, compensation has been assessed by the SDO (Revenue), Champa on account of acquisition of land belonging to the petitioners for construction of Bilaspur - Urdawal National

Highway and bypass road on NH No.200/49 and the petitioners were informed on 24.08.2016 (Annexure-P-3) to receive the amount of compensation. However, according to the petitioners' counsel, the amount has not yet been paid despite several visits to the Office of the Land Acquisition Officer. 2.

Considering the entire facts situation of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with direction that in the event, the amount has not yet been disbursed to the petitioners and they are lawfully entitled to receive the said amount of compensation, the SDO (Revenue), Janjgir-Champa shall disburse the amount of compensation to the petitioners within a period of one month from the date of submission of representation along with certified copy of this order. The petitioners' entitlement to interest on the awarded amount is left open to be determined as and when the petitioners make such prayer and prefer fresh writ petition for which liberty is reserved in their favour.

The writ petition is disposed of.
