1. The grievance of the petitioner in the present writ petition is the inaction on the part of the respondents in not deciding the claim of the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment.

2. According to the petitioner, her husband Late Shri Rajkumar Thavre, working on the post of peon under the respondents, died in harness on 27.09.2018. The petitioner immediately applied for compassionate appointment but her application till date is pending consideration before the authorities concerned and the claim of the petitioner is being deferred only on the ground of non availability of the vacancies in the office of the respondent No. 02. Meanwhile,

the respondents have also ordered that the claim of the petitioner can be considered in the other departments within the District.

3. Given the fact that the claim of the petitioner has till date not been rejected, the writ petition at this juncture is disposed of directing the respondents no. 02 and 03 to take appropriate steps in ensuring that the claim of the petitioner is considered in accordance with the Policies/Scheme for compassionate appointment at the earliest and an appropriate decision be taken within a period of 120 days from the date of receipt copy of this order.
