The Petitioner seeks correction of his date of birth from 20.4.1952 to 10.7.1958. The writ application does not disclose the date of appointment. The Petitioner is stated to have superannuated on 30.4.2014 and moved this Court earlier in 2014 itself for correcting his date of birth.

Learned Counsel for the State relies on Rules 84 and 85 of the Finance Code Part-1 to submit that in absence of any clerical error in date

of birth entry, there is no occasion to consider it at such a belated stage just before superannuation.
