Petitioner has filed this petition for quashment of the impugned memo dated 26-3-2014 (Annexure - P/1) whereby he has been informed that
he is due for retirement on 31-5-2014 on attaining the age of superannuation i.e. age of 60 years. He is also praying for a direction to the respondent No.4 to extend the age of retirement of the petitioner up to 62 years in accordance with the Chhattisgarh Shaskiya Sevak (Adhivarshiki-Ayu) (Sanshodhan) Ordinance, 2013. 2.
Admittedly, the petitioner has already retired from service on 31-5-2014, therefore, a writ cannot be issued extending his services. 3.
In view of the above, the writ petition is dismissed as having become infructuous and academic. As the matter has been rendered academic, this Court shall consider the legal issue in an appropriate case. JUDGE Gowri
