Petitioner, a Constable in the Department of Home/Police, is seeking a direction to the respondents to consider his case for promotion to the post of Head Constable.

Learned counsel appearing for the State would submit that the petitioner's case was duly considered by the concerned selection committee/DPC out of turn for promotion to the post of Head Constable, however, on the basis of his service record, the petitioner was not found suitable for promotion, therefore, he has not been offered appointment on the post of Head Constable. 4.
Considering the fact that the case of the petitioner has already been considered for promotion, but was not found fit, no case for interference is made out.

In the result, the writ petition, sans merit, is liable to be and is hereby dismissed. No order as to costs.
