The challenge in the present Writ Petition is to the recruitment process initiated by the respondents for filling up the post of 'Public Relations Officer' at the respondent No.1 establishment.

This Court vide order dated 13/02/2009 had permitted the respondent No.1 to proceed with the selection process, however, no appointment orders should be passed until the finalization of the present Writ Petition. 3.

The Writ Petition has since remained pending before this Court for 10 years and the recruitment process could not be finalized by virtue of the interim order passed by this Court.

Now, the respondents have moved an application wherein they have made a statement in their application that the State Government has granted permission to the respondents for filling up the non-academic posts by initiating a fresh selection process including the post of Public Relations Officer.

Given the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, that of the earlier recruitment process of the year 2008 would not be acted upon as such the issue raised by the petitioner becomes only of academic interest. 6.

Moreover, what also cannot be lost sight of is that in the present Writ Petition, the petitioner has challenged the recruitment process after having fully participated in the recruitment process and have been declared unsuccessful.

In addition, if the petitioner fulfill the eligibility criteria, he would not be precluded from participating in the fresh recruitment process to be initiated by the respondents and where the petitioner's grievance perhaps may be redressed with the fresh advertisement which the respondents intends to publish.

Given the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is of the opinion that nothing further remains to be adjudicated upon in the instant Writ Petition.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed off as having left with only academic interest.

10. The interim relief earlier granted stands vacated.

11. The respondents in the light of submission made in their application that they intend to go in for a fresh recruitment would not further pursue with the advertisement published in the year 2008 for filling up the post of Public Relations Officer.
