1. The present bunch of writ petitions have been filed alleging the inaction on the part of the respondents in not proceeding further with the recruitment process initiated for appointment to the post of Assistant Grade-III.
2. This Court on the previous date of hearing had asked the State counsel to seek instruction as regards the recruitment process.
3. The respondent no.2 have filed their response wherein they have stated that after the recruitment process initiated, a large number of complaints were received so far as the non-compliance of the reservation policy of the State is concerned and on the basis of which an inquiry was conducted and appropriate action has been initiated against the erring officers who have not followed the reservation policy while initiating the recruitment process.
4. Counsel appearing for the respondent no.2 submit that they have instructions to state that the Department is already proceeding to cancel the entire recruitment process and would be going for a fresh recruitment in accordance with the policy governing the field.
5. Given the said submission by the counsel for the respondent no.2, this Court is of the opinion that no fruitful purpose would would be served in keeping the writ petition pending, rather ends of justice would meet if the writ petition at this juncture stands disposed of in the light of the submission made by the counsel for the respondent no.2 that the department is intending to cancel the entire recruitment process.
6. Accordingly, all these writ petitions stand disposed of reserving the
right of the petitioners to avail appropriate remedies available to them in respect of any subsequent development that transpires. Sd/- P. Sam Koshy Judge Khatai
