The Court has heard counsel for the petitioners 1 and 2 many times and given direction from time to time to the state authorities to ensure that the menace of over loading, is checked in the State of Chhattisgarh and those in violation of the law are brought to book. 2.
In terms of a direction dated 08.01.2019 issued by this Court, a very detailed affidavit with supporting materials has been filed by Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Jail and Transport after due service upon the counsel for the petitioners.

Having gone through the same, we are satisfied that the State authorities specially of the Transport Department have been galvanized into putting mechanism in place to check overloading, as well as taking action against those who are found to be violating the law in relation to over loading.

The PIL stands disposed off.
