1. The limited grievance which the petitioner has in the present writ petition is that though he has retired on 31.08.2017 and the respondents have also approved and sanctioned the release of pension, the leave encashment and for reimbursement of medical expenses, which the petitioner has incurred while in service, but the payment have in fact have till date not been paid to the petitioner.

2. The Department has been making lame excuses for not releasing the same. Some of the excuse being firstly there being no District Aryurved Officer available. Secondly, non-availability of the budgeted amount, etc. These two reasons by no stretch of imagination can be

-2an acceptable ground for not releasing the pension and retiral dues payable to an employee. More particularly, even non-releasing the medical reimbursement, which the petitioner is otherwise entitled for.

3. Given the said nature of dispute, this Court is of the opinion that ends of justice would serve if the respondents No.2 & 5 are directed to ensure that the amount is released to the petitioner forthwith within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of the copy of this order.

4. In case, if the amount is not released within a period of 60 days, then the said amount shall also carry interest @10% per annum from the date of retirement till the date it is actually paid and the interest amount shall be recoverable from the officer who has shown laxity in not processing the case of the petitioner promptly.
