1. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been illegally and arbitrarily denied promotion on the post of Joint Director, but later-on, he was promoted and therefore he may be allowed to make representation to the State Government claiming all consequential service benefits.

2. Learned State counsel opposes the submission.

3. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, the petitioner is allowed to make representation before the State Government for redressal of his grievances / consequential service benefits, if any. If the petitioner makes representation within two weeks from today, the State Government will decide the same in accordance with law expeditiously within a period of two months from the date of its receipt, after hearing the petitioner.

4. With the aforesaid observation, the writ petition stands finally disposed of. No order as to cost(s).
