1. The limited grievance of the petitioners in the present writ petition is the inaction on the part of the Committee which has been constituted by the

respondent no.2 to look into the grievances of the petitioners particularly in respect of promotional avenues available to the petitioners and there not being sufficient higher posts in the department and as a result of which some of the petitioners are retiring on the post on which they were initially appointed.

2. The respondent no.2 has meanwhile accepted the representation of the petitioners and constituted a Committee to make suitable recommendation in respect of the grievances of the petitioners. The Committee was constituted as early as in February, 2020 and though more than one year has passed but no substantial report or recommendation has been submitted by the said Committee.

3. State counsel, on the other hand, submits that because of the pandemic situation that prevailed, perhaps the Committee has not been in a position to reach to a conclusion. She submits that since the matter is seized by the Committee constituted by the respondent no.2, the same shall be concluded at the earliest.

4. Given the said submission by the learned State counsel, the writ petition at this juncture stands disposed of directing the respondents 2 & 3 to look into the grievance of the petitioners and to ensure that appropriate instructions are issued to the Committee for submitting their report at the earliest preferably within a period of 6 months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. The writ petition accordingly stands disposed of expecting that the Committee shall submit a report/recommendation to the Government within the stipulated period of 6 months.
