Agrawal Order On Board 22/01/2018 (1) Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is entitled for promotion on the post of Chief Engineer, but his case has not been considered by the respondent authorities only on the ground that he is going to retire on 30.09.2003 for which he has made representation before the respondent authorities, but the same has not been considered and decided till now, against which this writ petition has been filed by the petitioner.

(2) Learned counsel appearing for the State would oppose the submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner and submit

that the petitioner is not entitled for promotion on the post of Chief Engineer.

(3) I have heard learned counsel for the parties. (4) Be that as it may, the respondent authorities are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner for promotion on the post of Chief Engineer strictly in accordance with law expeditiously within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

(5) It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and respondent authorities would be at liberty to consider the case of the petitioner in accordance with law.

(6) With the aforesaid observation, the writ petition stands finally disposed of.
