The petitioner's father was compulsory retired on being medical unfit. The petitioner made an application for compassionate appointment on 24/06/2010. The application has been rejected on the ground of delay of 16 years in filing the application. At that time, policy dated 30/01/1997 was applicable

and Paragraph-6 of the said policy provides that application for compassionate appointment has to be filed within one year. 2.

Admittedly, the application was filed after 16 years, therefore, the respondent-Company is absolutely justified in dismissing the application for compassionate appointment as barred by limitation.

Accordingly, writ petition is dismissed.
