The grievance of the petitioner is that, the petitioner having done her M.A. (English) and having secured 1420 marks out of total 1800 marks, she is entitled for gold medal in the said subject.

The petitioner after much persuasion have been permitted to deposit the requisite fees for the same and which the petitioner has already deposited by Bank Draft in December, 2019 itself, thereafter when the respondents have published the list on 24.12.2019 (Annexure P/6), the name of the petitioner is not reflected in the list of candidates who have been declared eligible for grant of gold medal.

Today when the matter is taken up, learned counsel appearing for the respondents No.2&3 submits that since the date for convocation has not been finalized, the grievance of the petitioner can be redressed by the respondent authorities deciding her representation, after giving due

-2opportunity to the petitioner as well, at the earliest preferably within a period of 7 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 4.

Given the said submission of the learned counsel for the respondentsUniversity, the present writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents No.2&3 to take a decision on the claim of the petitioner within a period of 7 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order. It is expected that decision should be after giving due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and decision should also be finalized before the convocation takes place.
