The applicant has preferred this application for grant of bail as he is arrested in connection with Crime No. 0/2020 registered in Police Station A.C.B./E.O.W. Raipur, Unit Bilaspur for offence punishable under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1998 and Amendment Act, 2019. 2.

As per the prosecution case, the applicant demanded amount of Rs.5000/- from the complainant for forwarding the file relating to grant of compensation for death of his son.

Learned counsel for the applicant submits that the applicant is in jail since 31/01/2020 and all the investigation is complete, no further investigation will be necessary, therefore the applicant may be released on bail.

Learned State counsel opposes the argument.

Considering the fact that the applicant is in jail since 31/01/2020,

taking into such fact and the pre-trial detention, this court is inclined to release the applicant on bail.

Accordingly, the bail application is allowed and it is directed that the applicant shall be released on his furnishing personal bond for a sum of Rs.25,000/- with one surety in the like sum to the satisfaction of concerned trial court for his regular appearance before it as and when directed.
