The dispute in the present petition is that the petitioner who stood retired w.e.f. 30.06.2016 has not been released his GPF amount of Rs. 13,20,782/- payable to him. The respondents i.e. the office of the Accountant General had made a submission that the amount payable to the petitioner towards GPF was only Rs.9,33,888/-. The Office of the Accountant General now in their reply has submitted that upon recalculation they have found that the total amount of GPF payable to the petitioner was

in fact Rs.13,20,782/- including the interest and necessary instruction has already been ordered for releasing the said amount to the petitioner. 3.

In the light of the reply which has been furnished by the respondents stating that the petitioner in fact is entitled for the entire amount of GPF which has been shown in his Account i.e. Rs.13,20,782/-, it is expected that the said amount shall be released to the petitioner at the earliest. 4.

It is made clear that in case the amount is not released within a period of 30 days from today, the amount shall carry interest at the rate which is provided to a senior citizen by a nationalized bank and interest shall be for the period from the date of retirement till the date of payment. 5.

With the aforesaid observation, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
