1. The petitioner has filed this petition seeking a direction to respondent No.2 to decide petitioner's application for transfer of his son from Central Jail, Bilaspur to Korba Jail under the provision of the Prisons Rules, 1968 (in short "the Rules of 1968")

2. During the course of arguments, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the authority to transfer a prisoner from one jail to other jail vests with the Director General of Prisons & Correctional Services under

-2Rule 791 of the Rules of 1968.

3. In view of the above, the proper course of action for the petitioner would be to prefer representation before the competent authority for consideration of prayer for transfer.
