S.B. Hon'ble Shri Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava Order On Board 06/09/2017 Heard.

1. The petitioner's grievance is that the petitioner's application for grant of compassionate appointment after death of his mother who died on 19.12.2015 has not been considered and decided till date.

2. The object of granting compassionate appointment is to provide immediate succor to the family of the deceased employee. If such applications are kept pending for long time, the very object and purpose of granting compassionate appointment is frustrated. It is found that mother of the petitioner died in the month of December, 2015 and even after lapse of 1 & 1⁄2 years, no decision has

-2been taken. It is also found that the Collector has also issued direction to the Chief Medical and Health Officer, Jashpur on 24.9.2016 but even then no decision has been taken.

3. Considering the aforesaid circumstances, respondent No.3 is directed to decide petitioner's claim for compassionate appointment within a period of 45 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order, by speaking order.

4. With the aforesaid observation and direction, the petition is finally disposed off.
