1. The relief sought for by the petitioner in the present writ petition is for a direction to the respondents to consider and decide his application which was pending before the Returning Officer.

2. During the course of the hearing it has been revealed that election results have been declared and the certificates to the winning candidates have also been issued. The petitioner at this juncture submits that he has also preferred an Election Petition under Section 122 of the Panchayat Raj Adhiniyam.

3. Given the fact that the petitioner has availed the statutory remedy available, this Court is of the opinion that no fruitful purpose would be served in issuing any writ to the respondents at this juncture.

4. With the aforesaid observations, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
